Wave of Light - Honoring Our Little Lights

Welcome to the Week of Light

From October 7th to 15th, families and communities around the world come together for Baby Loss Awareness Week, honoring the little ones who are no longer with us. This week is about creating space to remember, to share, and to connect with others who understand the unique pain of baby loss.

This page serves as the central hub for the Dancing Salamanders Wave of Light events and reflections. Each day, I’ll be sharing new posts, livestreams, and stories dedicated to different aspects of baby loss, healing, and remembrance. I hope that through these small acts of connection, we can honor our little lights together, creating a safe space for grief and love to coexist.

Join the Daily Livestreams

Every morning, I’ll be hosting a short livestream session at 10 a.m. KST, where I’ll share the day’s reflections, music, and perhaps a small candle lighting. This is a space to gather, reflect, and remember.

On October 15th, the Wave of Light culminates with a special evening livestream at 7 p.m. local time, joining families across the world in lighting candles in memory of our children. Together, we’ll create a wave of light that travels around the globe, symbolizing how our love and remembrance reach across time and distance.

Daily Themes and Posts

Each day, I’ll be posting a new blog article on Dancing Salamanders that reflects on a different theme of baby loss and remembrance. Here’s what you can expect throughout the week:

  • October 8th: A Letter to My Little One
Reflecting on the love and memories I hold.

  • October 9th: How to Support Grieving Parents
A guide on how to offer meaningful support to parents navigating the loss of a child.

  • October 10th: Memories We Hold Dear
    A story from us.

  • October 11th: Remembering Without Fear
Exploring the power of remembering, even when it brings pain, and how it helps in healing.

  • October 12th: Felix the Start-Tinkerer
A new Star Sailor story where Felix is a mischievous fox who spends his nights repairing broken stars. He’s made many mistakes, but he’s always working to set them right. Star Sailor learns that everyone makes mistakes, but it’s what you do after that defines who you are.

  • October 13th: The Healing Power of Creativity
Reflecting on how art, music, and writing have helped process grief and express what words can’t.

  • October 14th: Tending Our Garden of Love
A new Star Sailor story where grief and love grow together, symbolizing remembrance and healing.

  • October 15th: Honoring All Little Lights
The final livestream event, where we light our candles together and share the stories, songs, and memories that keep our children close.
